Another Grandson graduates - Eagle Scout

Wow Riley besides graduating, you got your Eagle Scout award. What an honor! Congratulations and the best of luck in the future. We love you.

Wow! I can't believe that it was just yesterday so it seems that Riley was starting school. He looks so much like his older brother Larry. I remember when I went to Kingman AZ to take care of my grandkids and to go to grandparents day at the school Larry & Cortney were going to and I took Riley with me. Some of the kids told Larry that they couldn't believe how much Riley looked like him. Riley will be graduating from Moapa Valley High School next week. Congratulations Riley.

May Day Bowler Elementary

Kristen & Tom invited me to go to the twins, Addison and Ashton's, May Day dance at the Bowler Elemetary School. It was held at the fair grounds and it was so much fun to watch the kids dance. I can't even remember how many of these May Day dances I have gone to over the years. It brought back memories of Sherry, Bret, Garen, & Lori doing their May Day dances. They are still doing some of the same dances that my kids did.

This year it was on May 1st. Addison and Ashton did a good job, and I stayed for the whole thing as it was fun to watch all of the other classes do their dances. I got to see Taylor and have a little visit with him. It was nice to see Taylor interacting with his sister Kristen. I love to see family treating each other with love and respect. Love you guys and thanks for the fun evening Kristen & Tom and Addison and Ashton too. Sorry I didn't get the last two blogs in the right order, but oh well that is me a little backwards at times.

Mother's Day

Renee & Jason came out to see me for Mother's Day. They brought me a beautiful plant, well at first if wasn't. They had been over to Renee's Dad's place and had left the poor plant in the hot car and it looked like it was not going to make it, but with my green thumb I brought it back to life. Poor Jason got the blame. Oh well! the plant is alive and healthy now. Thanks Renee & Jason for thinking about me on Mother's Day and for the really nice card. We went over to Bret's for dinner and it was delicious as usual. Bret gave me a really cute card and it made me laugh which I needed to do, as I had been sick with some kind of a sinus bug and it really dragged on for a week or two. I am just now starting to feel better. Thanks Heavens!
I made Renee show the progress of the new baby on it's way. In a couple of months we will know if it is a boy or girl and we are all anxiously waiting for that news. I can't believe that Sherry will be a grandma, I am excited for her as it has been a while since we have had babies to hold.
Lori S. came and visited during the week before and gave me a really cute planter and a nice card. Thanks, Lori I love you and miss seeing you. It is always nice having a good visit and catch up on families lives. Shiloh ended up getting a job at Bellagio as a life guard, and is going to live with Robyn during the summer break. Good for you Shiloh. Lani sent me a card in the mail and brigtened my day. Love you Lani and miss our visits too.
Sherry gave me a beautiful card too and we are going to go in to Vegas to her condo and stay a couple of nights and Sherry & I will have our Mother & Daughter's pedicure, and shopping trip. Can't wait as that is always fun to spend a day with my daughter.

Merritt's last Spring Concert MVHS

Well I did it again, I forgot to take my camera to Merritt's concert last Monday evening the 4th. I need to leave my camera in my purse. Sorry no pictures. It was amazing to hear how much the kids had improved since the first of the year. The concert took place at the Moapa Valley High School auditorium. Some of the music gave me chills up and down my spine, especially Phantom of the Opera. This was Mrs. D.'s last year and the kids surprised her at the end with all the bands marching to the beat of the drums up the aisle from the back of the auditorium. Everyone was standing and clapping and had tears in their eyes along with Mrs. D. She has been the band teacher for 25 years and is moving to the middle school to become a counselor there. Her shoes are going to be hard to fill. We were so proud of Merritt as he walked away with a lot of awards in music. At the end he announced that they always played the school song at the end of games whether they won or loss and wanted to do it one more time in honor of Mrs. D. So once again everyone stood and felt the spirit and cried with Mrs. D. Merritt is in the regular band and also in the jazz band and he had solos in just about every song the jazz band played. Wow he can make that Sax rock! Congratulations, Merritt!

The 5th was Sierra's 15th birthday and we went to our favorite eating place in Mesquite, Los Lupies to celebrate her birthday. I can't believe that she is 15. We ate until we were all busting at the seams and then Sierra opened cards and gifts. We really enjoyed the evening with the family, and Sierra had a lot of nice gifts, especially money as that is what she really wanted as she is saving up for a Shakespeare workshop. Keep up the good work Sierra. We love you!
